Climate Change Week
Our Science week all about climate change kicked of f this morning with a climate challenge presentation, followed by classroom work.
The pupils then presented their ideas to the school and have come up with some very unique and inventive ways of helping our society become greener.
Their work included:
PP1 – designing gardens, PP2 – making our school patio more environmentally friendly, PP3 – considering what being green means (and designing super shiny clean classrooms, terrific toilet flushes, a funky green kids park where recyled rubbish = time to play and a crazy cleaning coin to recycle and clean bathwater!), P1 – designing new style litterbins (sensing, talking and recycling), P2 – designing their own Eco-robots to clean Endcliffe Park, P3 – an Eco Heathrow (where they managed to run everything on electricity and get ticket prices down to £7 per flight!) and an Eco Park Centre – an environmentally friendly museum and P4 – an eco-office policy, suitable for adaptation by any school or office where every time paper was purchase, a tree was bought and planted and chairs are made from recycled car tyres.
Other exciting activities this week will include the Giant Hornets of Japan, Astrosphere Stardome, a Science Quiz and the K’Nex Challenge.
