How to search safely on the web?

Ashdell ensures that girls are given lessons and advice to help them search safely on the web. In addition to this we run a yearly Safer Internet Day as part of a world-wide scheme.

Child Friendly Search Engines

I’ve become very aware when teaching ICT that the majority of pupils use Google for their search engine.  Whilst there are options on Google that you can select to help your daughter search with a degree of safety, there are also a number of search engines that are designed with children in mind that are worth a look at.

How can I find out more about E-safety?

The THINKUKNOW website provides support and advice for children, teachers and parents who are concerned about their children’s safety on the web.

Kidsmart is a website full of information about how to stay safe on the internet.  It even has a quiz to help check out your knowledge!
