Computer Technology

Our pupils receive specialist computer lessons throughout their time at Ashdell.  Each classroom has its own interactive whiteboard, whilst the Pre-Prep department have a bank of computers and the Prep department has its own specialist computer room.  The school works hard to  keep up with new technology and uses a range of technologies, including Smart Response Assessment systems and iPads, in order to further develop the pupils learning.  The specialist computing lessons mean that the pupils can gain the experience and knowledge necessary to confidently apply their skills to other areas of the curriculum.

The Computer Technology curriculum offers pupils a wide range of opportunities, including learning Office style software (wordprocessing, spreadsheets, presentations, desktop publishing and databases), using ‘Google Apps for Education’, computer programming, movie making, animations, emails, building websites, e-safety, digital photography and control technology.

We also offer the pupils the unique chance to be radio DJs as they reach the dizzy heights of Prep 4, where they use their computer and music skills to broadcast shows during their lunch and break-times.
